The extensive temple complex has a lot to offer. The main building is a sight in itself, but do not miss the stele "forest" and more.

The pavilion was built for the World Expo. This enormous structure contains paintings depicting the city's past and other sights.

This recently renovated road is loaded with shops, modern architecture and plenty of space for pedestrians to enjoy themselves.

Yellow Dragon Cave
A tranquil park in the style of Song dynasty - completed with people in period costumes, old songs and other wonders.

Mid-Lake Pavilion
One of the three islands of the lake and the oldest of them. The pavilion creates an elegant scenery with unique atmosphere.

China Silk Museum
A fascinating (and free) museum describing and demonstrating how exactly silk is made. Well worth the visit.

Hu Xueyan Villa
A luxurious residence of a 19th century successful merchant. An impressive house built by an intriguing man.

Zhongshan Park
One of the many parks scattered across China and dedicated to Sun Yat-sen. A lush and tranquil park where you can wind down a little.

Huagang Park
A classic attraction of the lake. The former garden of a court attendant is now a fish-watching spot with beautiful scenery.

Taiziwan Park
Perhaps the most lovely park in Hangzhou, especially in spring when the flowers and cherry blossoms are in bloom. Wonderful afternoon out.

Several newly-built parks connected to each other. You can just wander around or hire a boat and ride around the West Lake yourself.
