Established in 1855, this English-style landscape garden was originally a private estate before coming under the ownership of the City of Málaga. It is recognized as a National Monument and a Site of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural), with a history spanning over 150 years as a significant botanical and heritage site.
The collection includes over 50,000 plants representing 3,000 different species, varieties, and cultivars. Notable botanical features include a vast selection of tropical and subtropical plants, along with native and endemic species. The grounds specifically house a significant collection of over 100 species of palms.
The layout is organized into themed areas, featuring scenic routes and a dedicated Mediterranean forest section. The garden maintains its historic character through well-preserved landscaping and diverse agricultural and botanical displays.
