The Vaults, SMWS in Leith

The Vaults is the spiritual home of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. The original single cask bar where you can try single cask whisky, single cask rum, single cask brandy and Scottish ales, all within opulent and comfortable surroundings. They have excellent food too, at affordable prices. The Vaults is part of a building which is one of the oldest buildings in Scotland still in use for the same purpose; selling alcohol. The actual Vaults beneath the building have been used since the 13th century for wine trading. A word of warning though, it is a private members bar. Take your chances, they normally allow tourists in that want to check the place out and come for dinner.
