This place played an important role in history, being the ground where the public gathered to listen to various political rallies and speeches.

This is where the people of Sydney learnt about the horrible act of Nazi regime in 1935 thanks to Egon Kisch, a Czechoslovak journalist. It's also a place where the Palm Sunday rallies and May Day demonstrations took place.

Aside from various assemblies, the park also serves as a recreational space for tourists and locals. There is a cricket ground and a street workout park, where people come to do callisthenics workout. Other popular events that get the public gathered here are street concerts, dance parties, and an outdoor cinema.

You can get here by buses 301 - 303, 373, 374, 377, 507, 515, 518 and 520 (Circular Quay, Phillip St).
