Sightseeing Cruise

This sightseeing cruise takes you on a boat around the Orava water reservoir which was created at the beginning of 20th century by the construction of a dam. In the process quite a few villages have perished. One of the remains of such a village is Slanicky Island of Art with remains of a chapel and other religious structures. Nowadays, the chapel is used for concerts and it showcases religious sculptures made by Slovak artists.

During the cruise you can see the beautiful scenery of Western Tatras and a protected Bird's Island, an ornithological reservation.

Be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early to park further up the road that you walk down to the reservoir. Tickets are bought on the boat.
