The bridge was originally designed by Longhena and reconstructed in 1934. It is built using Istrian stone and features a humpback arch with steps and cobblestone paving. It connects the sestieri of Santa Croce and Cannaregio, linking areas near the Santa Lucia railway station and the Church of Scalzi. The structure combines historic significance with modern architectural elements, serving as one of the main pedestrian crossings over the Grand Canal.
