The significance of the Presidio is portrayed in these fine military estates in which the soldiers lived after returning from the Indian wars. Built in the 1890s, these buildings were one of the first brick barracks in the western part of the US. Though the interiors have served a number of purposes, the exterior remains pretty much intact until these days.
