Fort Radíkov

Built between 1871 and 1876, this site is a well-preserved artillery fort that formed part of the broader Olomouc Fortress defensive system. It was originally designed to accommodate 800 soldiers, although the structure was never utilized for actual combat. The fort is recognized as a unique cultural monument due to its specific architectural layout as an artillery fort constructed without a reduit.

The fortification currently functions as a museum and a tourist information point focused on military history. It is managed and undergoing restoration by the Fort Radíkov association. The site is open to the public, with organized tours and various events held on the grounds.

As a one-escarpment fort, the complex offers insights into 19th-century military strategies and construction techniques. It is situated within an area used for hiking and serves as a point of interest for those tracing the regional military past.
