Constructed between 1887 and 1889 as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, the structure is a wrought-iron lattice tower and an example of late 19th-century engineering. The design is associated with Stéphen Sauvestre and other engineers credited for its conception.
The tower contains several levels with observation decks and restaurants, including a glass floor feature on the first level and a Michelin-starred dining option reported in sources. Vertical circulation is provided by elevators and stairs, and optional summit access is available from the upper levels.
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in available records, the tower has also served technical functions such as broadcasting. The site hosts special events and dining experiences documented by official information.
