Church of Santa Maria and San Donato

This church (one of the oldest churches in Venice dating back to the 7th century) will surely catch your eye with its terracotta facade and simple elegant structure. However, its true highlight that makes it worthy of attention is the lovely Byzantine mosaic pavement inside it. You can also find bones of a dragon here - or so the legend says.
