The Belfry is an 83-meter-high medieval bell tower dating back to the 13th century. It is built in the Brabantine Gothic style and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tower houses a historic carillon composed of 47 bronze bells.
Access to the observation platform is via a climb of 366 steps, from which panoramic views of the city can be seen. Inside, rooms display the tower's historical functions and architectural features, including the treasury and carillon mechanisms.
Located on the central Markt square, the Belfry serves as a significant heritage monument illustrating medieval urban architecture and civic history.
