Alter Markt

Located in the historical heart of Cologne, this square features authentic Renaissance houses, a beautiful fountain and a quite controversial sculpture called Kallendresser. Loosely translated as the "gutter shitter", you can find this bronze decoration at the facade of a building number 24.

Alter Markt is mostly known for hosting the city's most popular Christmas market. Divided into two lanes, "Feeding Alley" and "Glitter Alley", the stalls offer everything you could be after - local cuisine, mulled wine, accessories and gifts of all sorts.
