16th Avenue Tiled Steps

The staircase consists of over 2,000 hand-cut mosaic tiles arranged to depict scenes ranging from sea creatures to stars and native California wildlife. Located in a neighborhood known for its vibrant community involvement, it was officially opened in 2005 and serves as a public stairway showcasing street art and mosaic craftsmanship. The site includes gardens integrated into the steps and provides scenic views, making it a notable example of community-sponsored artwork and urban beautification.
