Old Town

The district is known for its traditional Fachwerkhäuser (half-timbered houses) and important landmarks such as the Römer city hall and Paulskirche. It was largely destroyed during World War II and has since been reconstructed with a mix of original and new buildings. The area includes cultural sites, museums, cafes, shops, and an archaeological garden showcasing Roman-era excavations.
