Canfranc Station Royal Hotel

Inaugurated on July 18, 1928, this grand international railway station was once a vital cross-border transport hub. Declared a National Monument and a Site of Cultural Interest, the building spans over 182,000 square meters and showcases a blend of industrial architecture and Art Deco elements. After the international rail link was severed by a bridge collapse in 1970, the structure underwent significant rehabilitation to preserve its historic facade and structural integrity.

The station building now functions as a 5-star Gran Lujo hotel while maintaining its original heritage status. The interior design honors its railway history through contemporary luxury adaptations of its original 1920s aesthetic. Although transformed into a hotel, the site continues to facilitate passenger rail services, serving as a functional through station and border train station.

The facility features a specialized gastronomic program, including a Michelin-starred restaurant that combines traditional Aragonese cuisine with French influences and avant-garde techniques. Additional dining options range from fine dining to tapas and cocktail bars. The site is accessible for both lodging and transit, with proximity to regional hiking routes and ski resorts.
