Built between 1896 and 1908 as part of the millennium celebrations, the castle was initially a temporary structure and later reconstructed as a permanent museum complex. The architectural design combines Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles, showcasing an eclectic style by Ignác Alpár. It houses the Hungarian Agricultural Museum, which is the largest museum of its kind in Europe, dedicated to the history and culture of agriculture. The site is wheelchair accessible and open to the public.
