Designed by Giuseppe Poggi in 1869, the square is situated on a hill offering panoramic views of the cityscape, including landmarks such as the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the Arno River. It features bronze copies of Michelangelo's sculptures, most notably a replica of the David, which contributes to its artistic and historical significance. The square is accessible via pedestrian paths and is wheelchair accessible, with asphalt surfaces and landscaped gardens enhancing the setting.
