Designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and completed in 1986, this church is notable for its expressionist architecture inspired by basaltic formations and its 74-meter-high spire, making it a prominent landmark. It serves both as a place of worship and a cultural venue, housing a large concert organ and a statue of Leif Eriksson. The tower includes a viewing deck that offers panoramic vistas of the surrounding city, and the building is fully wheelchair accessible.
