The structure was constructed between 1895 and 1902 in neo-romanesque style with gothic revival elements, designed by the architect Frigyes Schulek. It serves as a lookout terrace with towers and a chapel, offering extensive views of the Danube River, the Parliament building, Margaret Island, and Gellért Hill. As part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it holds historical and architectural significance within the Buda Castle District. The monument is open to the public and is recognized for its combination of historical architecture and scenic vantage points.
