Originally created in the 18th century, the estate features a manor house surrounded by grounds that showcase a combination of French formal, Italian Renaissance, and medieval styles. The gardens are characterized by geometric and figurative topiary art, with extensive use of boxwood, yew, and other evergreen species. The site has been restored to its original design and has held the Jardin remarquable label since 2005.
The grounds consist of 10 hectares of sculpted greenery set within a 200-hectare forest domain. Seven distinct themed areas are available to explore, including the Allée des Charmes, the French garden, and the White Garden. Architectural elements like a Chinese pagoda are integrated into the landscape, which is designed to maintain its visual appeal throughout the year.
The gardens are open to the public and are recognized for their horticultural significance. The landscape emphasizes structural plant forms and green spaces rather than floral displays, focusing on the precision of hand-sheared greenery.
