The dining venue occupies a building with a functionalist architectural background. The original structure was designed by Bohuslav Fuchs in 1925 and completed in 1926; that original was demolished in 1964. A replica of the 1926 building opened in 1995 and underwent a substantial renovation in 2012 that prompted architectural debate.
